CIDER BARN – Sleeps 2-4
- The converted Cider barn is set amongst beautiful countryside next to an old mill and stream with a handful of neighbours nearby. Quite compact and modest in size but with a generous garden stretching along the stream and good walks nearby. We were greeted with a hamper of goodies for Christmas and they had put a tree up which was a lovely touch. The barn is naturally rustic and the conversion has been done in a sympathetic way. The kitchen could be better equipped, for example, there was only one frying pan, which had seen better days, but Shaun swiftly replaced this with a brand new one once we informed him,, and on Christmas Eve, so that was very welcome. - We had a fantastic family holiday. This is especially great for children as there is plenty of outdoor space, a fantastic zipline, and the property has other games and activities provided. The barn was lovely to stay in for the week, with all facilities in working order and a great base for day trips around Dorset and Devon. Massive garden for the kids to run around, a zip line and slide. They had a blast. A pub was close by, across a field with some very friendly cows, and lots to see and do in the area.

- A bolthole in the most calming, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Did absolute wonders for my mental health being able to just disappear for a few days. Cider barn was full of character, clean and had everything we needed. Shaun and his wife and lovely people and I'm very grateful I got to stay in their property. - A wonderful stay, in a beautiful home with an amazing garden to play in.
The upside down layout in the converted cider barn, was just as described and had everything we needed to stay with two small children.
They especially loved eating outside in the garden next to the millpond full of tadpoles.

- We stayed a week in the old mill which is in a beautiful secluded valley with easy access to the beach and Jurassic coast. Fascinating building and perfectly comfortable for the five of us. I'm 6'2" so had to be wary of some low beams but, survived the week without injury. I loved the walk-in shower and the beds were very comfortable. - A great place for a stay. Quirky listed Mill. Great fun for kids and adults. Lovely surrounds and village, very picturesque with its wisteria covered thatched houses.

- It's a beautiful mill house, really sympathetically restored with gorgeous woodwork everywhere. The surrounding fields are filled with sheep though there's a lovely lawn area bordered by streams which allows dogs to run around safely.
The house is within really easy access of the local beaches and Bridport for any shopping needs.
It was New Year, -4 degrees outside, though the house was lovely and warm.

The slide in the garden was a little steep/fast for him (we didn't try the zip wire), but he loved the space to run around in the garden - as did our dog.
Accommodation is over three levels, but stair gates kept our little one safe.
Well stocked kitchen.
Very peaceful location. Stream and pond so care with kids, ours were 10 & 12 so all good. Nice little bbq area. Great pub about 15mins walk across field footpath or around on the road, although care needed as roads around the area are only single highways. Close to Weymouth, Dorchester and West Bay along with many nice places in between.
We were also lucky enough to have a really low fly-by from a massive Airbus Atlas doing a manoeuvre from Brise Norton around Portland which was lovely to see / hear 💪🏻

Absolutely worth considering if you are looking to holiday in the area. Shaun was an incredible host, fixing the (very minor) issue that cropped up during our stay immediately. Also because it might not be totally clear from the listing, the property is very suitable to have children in - even very young children. - This place is simply stunning. Location is incredibly close to many major landmarks you would want to visit.
Kitchen was perfect and an arrival gift greeted us.
The ceilings are a little low as expected from an older building, so watch your head.
The entire place was very fun to explore. Shaun also turned on the wheel for us.
You also get a huge garden to relax in next to sounds of local streams and even a mini waterfall at the back.

- Recently stayed at Shaun's place for 9 nights and absolutely loved it. Spent lots of time in the enormous garden with the kids. They loved the zip line , swings, tree house and searching for frogs. Evening walks to the local pub were lovely.
The property itself is charming and impressive. We saw the water mill working and really enjoyed the history and character of the property.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payable 8 weeks
before the holiday. If the holiday is booked less than 8 weeks from its commencement,
the full charge is payable.
WE ACCEPT DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WITH NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES
You are strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance. If you fail to insure
or if your claim does not qualify the following applies A) if we are unable to re-let,
the moneys paid already shall be forfeited. B) If we re-let, then we shall refund
all moneys less handling charge £50 per week.
